3rd time's a charm...

Secret's out! Now that the family, bosses etc know, we can safely say that baby Edwards #3 is on the way! We thought we'd bring in the new year with a bang. We are thrilled to welcome a new addition to the family! I am due September 8, making Graham and this one 14 months apart, if I make it to my due date, which I have never done thankfully. Eve is very excited about the baby, mostly because she is convinced that it is a baby sister. We don't plan on finding out the gender until the birth, so hopefully we can get her to be a little more open minded ;) But as of right now, when we mention a possible baby brother, she nonchalantly says "silly mom, that's my sister". We would be delighted to have either, we feel so blessed our Heavenly Father trusts us enough to send us another.

7 months

The big guy hit the 7 month mark. He is still the happiest most relazed baby on the planet. Nothing seems to get a rise out of him except his hunger. His weight finally plateaued, and he's settled nicely at 20.5 lbs. He hates being on his belly, he will not stay there for more than 3 seconds. He is a lot like a turtle, slow moving, and if he is on his back, he's stuck. He gets so close, and if he would put forth any effort he could roll from back to belly, he just doesn't have any desire. He will try once, but then just gives up. He will get there eventually, I'm sure. But for now, he's just happy to play in his excersaucer and have his sister entertain him with her endless energy. He can sit up on his own for the most part, we tip over from time to time, but it's a work in progress. He has had his 4th haircut, and just when I thought it couldn't get more blonde, it does. He still hates his carseat, but is much better about napping in his crib. He LOVES his pacifier, Heaven help you if you go anywhere without one. He doesn't need it all the time, but if he's tired or bored, nothing calms him down like his "paci". It will be a challenge when the time comes to phase those out...I'm not looking forward to that. He loves the bath, and will splash and splash until the water gets cold. But of all the things he loves, he loves food the most. He tanks baby food like none other. He will take a full 4 oz baby food jar, then about a 4-5 oz bottle. He's a chunk and very happy about it.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I totally ripped off this idea from my sister Amy. She did it last year, and I just thought it was the cutest thing ever! Hope everyone has a very happy Valentine's Day!

My big girl is 3

This little princess has just grown up when I wasn't looking, she is so poised, polite, maternal, communicative, sweet, and most of all sassy. I love the fire this girl posseses! I love it and I hate it. When the sass is directed at me, I don't love it. But when I see her stand up for herself or negotiate, I love it. She has a way to get a point across, but still maintain some sweetness.
Just the other day, I was trying to get her to eat, and she wouldn't budge. I said "Eve, it really hurts my feelings that you won't eat the supper I made you."
She sweetly stroked my face, looked into my eyes, and responded "Mom, but sometimes your dinner is yucky."
Ouch, but she said it so sweetly, I can't blame her, she was just being honest.
She is the best big sister of all time, even when she is "busy". While helping mom with dinner, or playing with her toys, if Graham makes noise or cries, you hear "Oh, Graham needs me!" And she will rush over to him and give him his pacifier, a toy, or sometimes just sing/dance for him. And Graham just thinks she is the coolest person ever, no one can make him laugh or smile like she can.
Max continues to go everywhere, he is her best friend. This poor thing has been stitched back to life so many times. He is in pretty rough shape from all the love of this little lady. He continues to have a seat in the car, at the table etc.
Recently Eve has started phasing out napping. NOOOO! I knew this day had to come, but I wasn't quite ready yet. She would just play around up there in the dark during the whole nap time anyway, so I figured we would change from nap time to just "quiet time". It's great, she gets the privilage  of having the light on, and she just reads books. She doesn't make a peep, she is so happy to have this time to herself and read through books, read to max, etc. And it's funny, about half the time she ends up falling asleep. But either way, it still gives me that blessed time of quiet when both my kids are in their rooms, Graham sleeping and Eve doing whatever she does.
Eve is incredibly independant. She can dress herself (occasionally needs help) feed herself, she has even learned how to turn on the tv...help! She remembers everything, so no more empty promises mom. No more promising a treat in the morning if she goes to bed with no fuss, because as soon as she wakes up, she comes to collect!
Her physical went great, the doctor thinks she is very bright and funny. She's a little below average for height and weight, but she's proportioned.

On the actual day of her Birthday, dad surprised her with a special cupcake when he got home. She made a special birthday wish, and still won't tell what it is. Happy birthday love!
