Precious

Little miss Eve has a new favorite pass time, "juice parties" as we like to call them. She lines up her toys places out her dishes and has a little party. They are quite exclusive, I have only been invited once. They only other that has felt the pang of her exclusivity is 'Swiper the Fox', and that is because he "swipes all her cups!". But, instead of being heartbroken about my lack of invite, or maybe lack of coolness that prevents said invite, I enjoy the experience from the outside.

The best part of being an outsider, I get to witness this. Eve saying her blessing on her party. It usually goes something like this:
"Dear Heavenly Father, I'm thankful for this day, I'm thankful for my cups, and my teapot.
I love baby brother, I'm thankful for my Dora show and all my toys. I love my mom and dad. I love my dishes and Jesus.
In the name of Jesus Christ Amen."
This is the sweetest thing to see first hand, my little girl acting like her real self, precious. I try to remember that through the acting out and tantrums, that my Eve's true self is previous and lovely.

As a parent, I think the most asked question is "Is anything I do/say sinking in?"
Well, as we have struggled with Eve's acting out, and the textbook behavioral changes that come with a new sibling, seeing this one thing "sink in"...helps.
At least something we are doing seems to get through to her. At this point, it seems that is the only thing getting through. But it's a start :)

Blessing Day

Our sweet boy got blessed on Sunday. This is my favorite "event" of having a new baby. There is just something so special about seeing and hearing your husband (or whomever you choose) bless your baby. The baby is all in white, and just looks so angelic. We were lucky enough to have both Braden's mom and my dad in town for his special day.
Happy blessing day baby Graham
Haha, I couldnt resist! He was so done having pictures taken....

1 month

Mr G is a month old (almost)! Things are going by much quicker than I anticipated, as they always do with teeny newborns. Graham is such a great baby, although he may be a bit spoiled. He doesn't sleep well, unless next to his mama. I know I shouldn't let this happen, but it gets me a bit more sleep at night, so I will deal with the crib transition later :) He absolutely loves his pacifier, as well as his human pacifier (me of course).
Recently he got days and nights distinguished, happy day! At night (if next to me) he will sleep two 2-2.5 hour stretches after a feeding. Although, I do somewhat miss our "wakey time" in the middle of the night, it was so peaceful and tender. But, we both need our sleep, so we try to find that other times when Eve is busy with other things.
He is still my string bean, long and lean. He put on almost a whole pound in the last 2 weeks, but you can hardly tell. He is now 7 lbs 8 oz :) His grey newborn eyes are now showing much more of their blue color, and we are no longer jaundiced. He is mellow, and a very content baby, I am so lucky!
We love you Graham!
