Tough Mudder NJ

And they're off! Braden and a few of his friends did another Tough Mudder race. This one was held in Englishtown NJ, and thanks to no longer being huge and pregnant, I was able to be a spectator and cruise around the course with them to get a few pictures :)
Some of the obstacles included: arctic enema, kiss of mud, balls to the wall, underwater tunnel, ladder to hell, walk the plank, field of fire, mud slide, berlin walls, electroshock therapy, wounded warrior, etc...none that pacify the nervous wife, that's for sure!

I was running around with my friend Heather (another wife of the group) in the hopes of getting the perfect pictures. We soon found out that me strapped with a 15 lb baby to my front and pushing a 2 year old in the stroller, made me unable to keep up. So we stuck with the plan to "divide and conquer"

It was such a tough looking race, but you never found them without smiles on their faces, they are all boys at heart. This was just a big excuse to play in the mud.

Now these events are what really scared me. These wires are sizzling with anywhere from 0-10,000 Volts of electricity! I just sat there praying Braden didn't have a heart attack!

Graham had a blast, he was loving all the attention he was getting from other spectators

And well, Eve loved it because I let her watch Dora the Explorer on my ipod until either her eyes fell out, or the race ended, whichever came first.

The last event was another field of electric wires, I had a slight panic attack with this one. The group that ran through before them had a member get knocked out cold! They had to go back in there and drag him out. I missed what happened to him, I got distracted trying to take their pictures. It's probably best I didn't know how it turned out...

Ahh, isn't he something? I couldn't be more proud, I have such a crush on him! He truly amazes me everyday.

Canadian Thanksgiving

It was/is that time of year again. Every year Braden and I host Canadian Thanksgiving at our place. I have come to really love this little tradition, we make the turkey and drinks, and for the rest of the dinner we do potluck.
We had a great turn out, lots of friends, tonnes of food, many laughs and huge amounts of chaos. And I loved every second of it! Being from a family with 8 kids, chaos is where I feel most at home. Being so far from my own family, I appreciate every bit of anything like my home. I'm so thankful for my own little family, and the life we have here together. I'm thankful for our ward family and the friends we have.

"Dad, where's your hair go?"

It's done! Braden had to recently get a mole removed from his head, and to do such they had to shave part of it, rather than having a bald spot, he decided to go fully bald.
I was a little bit shocked, and I had my reservations, but I really like it! Personally I am biased, but I think he looks handsome, he has a good head shape to be bald.
Eve's reaction was a little bit funnier, she just said "Dad, where's your hair go?" as I replied, "He shaved it off, doesn't he look handsome?" she says "uuuuuh, of course".
So it's official, the ladies in his life like it. As the picture shows, Graham could go either way :)

3 months

3 months already!? This little guy is so awesome, best baby ever. He is sleeping through the night!! I never thought this day would come, the sleep deprivation and extreme exhaustion had me convinced I would never feel rested again. And then it happened...and the both of us have never felt better!
He is the happiest baby of all time,  and he is at such a fun stage. He is cooing and smiling always, and just lights up whenever you enter the room. He has discovered his hands, they are always in his mouth, it is really hard to get a picture without his hands in it, they are either flapping around or in his mouth, it's so cute! He is gaining handsomely and I couldn't be happier, he is about 13.5 pounds. Although, I didn't remember putting away 0-3 month clothes to be this sad. It probably was, and I just chose to forget ;)
This past month has had it's ups and downs. Due to illness and doctors recommendations, I weaned G this past month, it was really hard for the both of us, but it needed to be done. I was surprised how emotional I was, I loved our time together, the bonding and his just need to have me around always. He didn't adjust well to me giving him a bottle, which made it more difficult, but he is ok with it now. And the truth of it is, now we are BOTH healthy. He is just as healthy as he was while nursing, but now he has a healthy mom. And that is just as important. And when I see him smile at me, I can tell he doesn't hold it against me, he's still a mama's boy :)

Growing Pains

Everybody warned me of this, they warned me that once you have another baby your older child(ren) seem so much older. It's logical, obviously a new baby makes a toddler seem older and wiser right? Well what I didn't realize is how mature my little Eve is becoming. My baby girl doesn't have an ounce of baby left in her, she is turning out so beautifully. She is so polite, smart, loving, and sweet. Apart from the sass that arises on occasion that is ;) If you ever tell her something makes you sad, she drops what she's doing immediately to comfort you.
She is so tender with her little brother, he gets showered in kisses and hugs ALL day long. I have to practically build a fence around him so he can catch a breath. She can act like a normal 2 year old at times and act out, but over all she is really maturing. I wish I could post video after video of how she plays with her babies, she is such a sweet little mom, she rocks them, sings to them, gives them time outs (haha)
I am so proud of her, but it pains me to see her grown up. She'll always be my baby girl, but when did she get so big? I am so proud of her, I can't even put it to words...I'll just say I love my little lady so much

This is how she spends most of her day, she sings him songs, tells him jokes etc...anything to make him smile.
