Beach Day

Today we went to the beach Cove Island here in Stamford. It was a gorgeous day and I just couldn't let it go to waste. She had so much fun, she got a little time in the sun but the real action was in her stroller apparently. She just sat in there, and played with a few toys and her feet. She can't lift them up to where she would like them yet, but in the stroller she can prop them up and then she can reach them and play with them. Those toes kept her entertained most of the time we were there. She played a little outside the stroller, but I think she may have just got too hot and preferred the shaded seat she had before. But it was a fun time none the less, and I got some good relaxing time in as well. Also, you will notice in the picture the spit bubbles...that is her new thing I guess. A lot of the time instead of smiling, she just blows spit bubbles.
Once again....she and her bubbles
It was approaching her nap time....this was the closing of the day

Bath Time

This little one loves the bath more and more every time she gets in it. She splashes so much now that the water gets little waves that splash her face. She gets a shocked look, and then just continues on. She is rarely in a mood that is anything but happy. But this particular time she wasn't so pleasant, so I thought a little bubble bath would cheer her up. I was so right :) I am so glad to know that there is always something I can turn to to put her in a happy place. Because come on, who could tire from looking at this little face peering out of the bubbles???

Well this is her splashing, she is about to grow out of her bathing suit, so I wanted her to wear it somewhere...even if it is just in our bathtub. Look at those chubby thighs!
p.s. Does anyone know why blogger won't let you rotate your pictures? The pic is horizontal in the picture folder, but when I upload it, blogger makes it vertical....any ideas on how to fix it?

Firsts #4

Eve got her first pedicure! First of many I am sure. It was a lot more difficult than I was anticipating, but I am glad we stuck it out. The first trial turned out pretty bad, but then I waited until she was asleep, and then I could fix it and they could dry. I am not sure why I didn't think to do that the first time, but oh well. It is just one of those things that makes me so glad I have a little girl!

First #3

Eve got her first new chair! My good friend Lindsey found a Bumbo at a garage sale for super cheap and was so nice to grab it for us. As you can see, Eve is a really big fan. As soon as she gets in it, her whole attitude changes, you can just tell she feels really cool sitting up by herself in her cool new chair. She can only really last for about 20 mins max because her neck gets tired, but she loves the time she gets to spend in it. It was made anything done in the kitchen a lot easier. I can just prop her up in the chair and she is happy to just watch, as long as she's in her chair. It's helping her progress in her neck stabilization as well, so everybody wins :)

Firsts #2

This is so funny, I one day noticed that Eve will watch TV...already! I believe she was watching the movie "Princess and the Frog". I just put it in thinking that the colors would keep her a little entertained while I quickly ran upstairs so get the laundry and put in a load. Well, I was surprised that I put in the laundry, and she was still just watching....so I started doing the dishes, and kept looking back to check on her...then I saw her little hand resting up on the pillow almost like an arm rest! It was so classic I had to get a picture. I got a few more chores done and she was still completely content to just watch this show, she only started fussing when she started to get hungry. So since this incident I have been really careful of what I watch/listen to. I don't know how much she can actually comprehend, but I feel it's better to be safe than sorry. She has become a huge fan of the movie "Dream Girls" I think it's a mixture of the music and the flashing bright lights from all the stage performances done in the movie. But whatever it is, she loves it, she gets excited, and kicks her legs around, gets a big grin on her face when it's playing. Just this morning she was a little grumpy after her nap was cut short, and so I just pressed play (the DVD was still in from the night before when we watched it...again) and she totally calmed down. Call it coincidence, but I think she just likes the music etc.

Firsts #1

So, I guess someone discovered that there internet was slowing down due to an unwanted visitor(s) using it without them knowing, that unwanted visitor was Braden and I. So, now we don't have the internet temporarily, and that means fewer blog posts. Sorry guys, but I will just have to do multiple posts all at once when I can raid someone's computer. Many things have been happening the past few weeks with our little family, mostly the baby. When we were in Canada we got her one of those archways that hang toys over her, and she just loves it! The little orange toy on the right of the picture is her new favorite, she has become a huge fan of the wings (it is a bug) because #1) her hand is just big enough to get a good grip on the bottom and #2) the wings make a crinkling sound. That is the real crowd pleaser right there, anything that makes that crinkling sound makes her so content. It's really nice. She will spend lots of time under there just looking, she is swatting at them a little bit, but she really likes to just look. But I am very wary, maybe slightly paranoid of her getting a flat head, so I make sure that she is well padded, and keep the time limited. I feel bad for keeping her from something that makes her so excited, but I feel she will thank me later...hopefully.

3 months

Well this little baby is already 3 months old. She is at such a fun stage right now, she still loves to look at her fists, but she has discovered that there is two of them, so that is a whole new experience for her. She loves to lay down with her new toy (one of those mats with an archway that has toys dangling from it). She has started grabbing at things, and has discovered that she has a voice that can be used for more than crying. She will "talk" to you now, when you talk to her she makes her cooing sounds and smiles. She has become much more smiley than she was before, she will smile at most anyone that grins at her, it's so cute. She is still so well behaved, she doesn't cry a lot unless something is really wrong, when she wakes up she likes to "talk" for a while. I love just listening to the baby monitor when she wakes up.
As you can see by this picture, she is gaining weight beautifully :) she is a little over 12 lbs now. She still hates tummy time, and she is sleeping about a 7 hr stretch at night, followed by another 3 hour stretch. She also usually takes a few naps during the day, so she has become a really good sleeper.
My sister was kind enough to take some pictures of the two of us in while we were up in Canada. We got some really good shots, and she took them all just on her bed! She's so creative. Eve is such a smiley baby, but she wouldn't smile for the camera. She was so busy staring at the camera, that she wouldn't smile, but at least she's looking at it in about 95% of the pictures taken :)
