19 Months

Little Eve aint so little! I am loving this stage (as I say about every single one) she is so playful and so inquisitive. She's at the point where she is such a little sponge and picks up on every word and action. She loves to play games with you and sing any song as long as it has actions. She knows all the moves to Popcorn Popping, and Wheels on the Bus, her personal favorite. She's mastered her body parts and loves it when you "quiz" her on it. She is always looking for ways to help out around the house, from picking up toys to making cookies. She even tries to take care of things after using her potty chair (you have to be quick to help her out or you have a big mess, as she can't reach to dump it into the toilet haha) I love how maternal and domestic she is. She loves to take her baby everywhere and rock her. Funnily enough, the best way to entertain her is to hand her a wet wipe. She will clean and clean and clean for hours if you let her, it's so funny! I can't wait until she can reach the shelves to dust ;) just kididng. But I'm so glad I have a little helper.

Silverman's Farm

This Labor Day weekend we also spent a day out at Silverman's Farm. It is such a cute little spot and great to bring kids. They have some farm animals the kids can look at, and you get to ride a tractor up the hill to the orchards. Eve thought this was the coolest part. This particular weekend was good for picking gala apples, golden crisp apples, and white peaches.

The weather was great and the picking was great, being a holiday weekend it was pretty quiet up there..until we showed up haha.

Coincidentally gala apples are Braden's favorite, and the only thing he likes better than apples is peaches.
At the end you can taken the tractor back down or just walk it, but they have some tasty treats made with the current fruit in season. They also have cute things for kids to drink and snack on.

So Long Sweet Summer

We are sad to see summer go, but we made one last trip to the beach as fall is coming so quickly. Eve has become such a fan of the beach, she has even made peace with sand in her shoes. She currently enjoys digging a lot of sand into a bucket, and dumping it over her feet. This particular activity keeps her entertained for what seems like forever, its great.

It was a great day, we were surprised how quiet it was for a holiday weekend. We could probably count on 2 hands how many people were there. It was so nice and peaceful, all you heard was the sound of the water...and a little bit of Eve of course. We could just sat and relaxed.

We forgot her floppy hat, so she kept stealing mine, she rocks it much more than I do anyways :)

What can you do with 1 can of pumpkin?

Hurricane Irene was on her way. So I, along with my friend Kristy decided to bake some pumpkin waffles for breakfast. But, I only had the larger (29 oz) can of pumpkin. So we made the waffles and had a lot leftover. In our efforts not to waste any, and having a lot of free time being in lock down and all, we did a lot of baking. After the waffles came the pumpkin roll with cream cheese filling, then we thought maybe pumpkin ginger bread. I know it's a little early in the season, but we needed to use the pumpkin. Then the very last bit was used for pumpkin cookies. We had so much pumpkin desserts we are pretty done with it for now. But it was a great kick off for the Autumn season :)
