7 weeks

Well Eve is now 7 weeks old. And by the picture you can really tell that she is definitely putting on weight. as of a few days ago, she just got to 10 lbs! She is so close to being at the right weight :) One of my favorite things is how she sleeps, since she was out of the womb she hated to be fully swaddled because she loves her hands by her face. And she still does it, I love it! Sometimes I will hear her fussing in her crib, and when I go check, it is often just a matter of her hands being tied down, or just not close enough to her face. It's really cute.
I love that she loves her daddy, it is these little moments that I live for. It makes me realize how blessed I am to have this little family. Sunday naps are turning out to be quite the tradition in our house, Braden sleeps with Eve and I get a few hours to myself. Who knew 2 hours to yourself could have so much value? Weirdest thing, her umbilical cord still hasn't fallen off! After 2 weeks I asked the pediatrician, and she said "sometimes babies keep them for a month." So after Eve turned a month old, I asked her again, only to hear her say "Well let's give it 2 more weeks." So last Tuesday I called her again, and she said "Wow, well let me call a few surgeons and just see when they feel is best." And I still haven't heard back from her. It is so crazy, I am cleaning it regularly and taking proper care of it, it is just so "scooped" that no air gets to it to dry it out. But I will update as soon as I hear back from the pediatrician.

She turned just as I was taking the picture, she is so close to being able to hold her head up, it is crazy! But look at the little pot belly :)

6 weeks

Well, can you believe she is 6 weeks already? She is doing really well, and getting more and more animated every day. Last Tuesday she was up to 9 lbs 4 oz, and we are hoping to get that up to over 10 obs by wednesday. The doc said that she is just under the curve to where she should be weight wise :) That is very exciting for me, we have been doing everything we can to get her weight up as fast as we could, so this is great news! It is so funny, you can really see it in her face, her cheeks are getting so chubby, and her thighs just keep growing and growing. In the picture you can see that her wrists are getting fat too. Her hair hasn't gotten too much lighter in the past week or so, so maybe it has reached its color? I am sure it will continue to lighten the more and more we are outside. Lately the weather has been so great, we have been able to go on walks during lunch time with her daddy down in Greenwich. After the big storm last week it did some damage to the roof where the trees fell on it. So all week there has been workers out every day all day fixing the house outside, and now they are re-shingling the house. They are so loud! And of course Eve's crib is on the top floor right by all the noise. So needless to say, naps have been scarce this week. Hopefully they will be done soon! And we just have to be grateful that we are able to stay in the house, and no one was hurt. But nothing else is really going on here in Stamford, just enjoying being a mom, and learning more and more from Eve.

One month

Well little Eve is getting bigger! She has been quite the slow gainer, but over the past week she has gained a pound! The doc has us feeding her a lot so she can gain weight and catch up. But at this rate she expects her to be caught up in about 10 days or so. Evey new roll we find on those thighs is an exciting milestone :) As of last tuesday she was 8 lbs 4 oz, and she is now 21 1/2 inches long.
My friend Lindsey was nice enough to take Eve's baby shots. She is so talented! I love how they all turned out, and she was so good with Eve. I love this headband in this picture, I made it for her blessing day, and by great coincidence it matches the bracelet my sister made for her :) Eve was great during all of her pictures, I was suprised at how long she stayed awake, but when she fell asleep, it was a deep sleep, so it worked out really well. Anyways, here are a few of my favorites...
She did not like this hat on, but I couldn't resist! It is wool, so the scratchy feeling was making her mad, but I just thought this hat was so awesome...nice choice Lindsey!

Blessing Day

Well March 7th was her big day, Eve Marie Edwards was lucky enough to be blessed by her daddy. It was such a special day for us, Braden was able to give her a blessing with his dad, and a few close friends in the circle. My sister was nice enough to find her dress for her and overnight mail it from Canada. We couldn't find a white dress anywhere! She did really well, she was wide awake during the whole thing, and she didn't make a peep. When I passed her off to her dad, I noticed that she had woken up and I got nervous. Anyways, Braden did a beautiful job, and I will remember it always.
Such a precious part of heaven. I never get tired of just looking at her, and wondering what she is thinking. It was a good day, one of the best.

1 month

Ok, so I know that I am a little bit behind on the one month post, but here is the update. Little Eve has been doing really well, she sleeps in 3 hour stretches at night, and has usually two about two hour periods during the day of "awake time". She is so fun, she just likes to lay flat and look around, but now she recognizes Braden and I's voices. Her hair is getting lighter every day, and it is really noticeable every time she has a bath. It's like every time I wash it, it comes out lighter! But that is no suprise looking at her daddy.

She is such a pleasant happy baby, and we feel so blessed to have her. We have been lucky enough to have my mom stay for the first month, and now we have Braden's mom here. I haven's had to cook a meal or wash a dish in about 5 weeks, and I haven't missed it. It is going to be a little bit of a shock when I no longer have help around the house. I shouldn't say shock, it will be an adjustment when I no longer have help. I am just trying to cherish my time with her before my maternity leave runs out. I know I am only going back to work two days a week, but that is almost 30% of my week! Anyways, things are going really well, and Eve is amazing!
