Recital day. She looks so big with her hair up and her dance make up, but it's her personality that is so old to me. She's such an old soul, I forget sometimes that she's only 5. She acts so much older. I took her picture, and I told her "you're going to be great, don't be nervous." And she replied calmly, "it's ok mom, coloring and saying prayers makes me calm before I go on stage." She's amazing, and so mature beyond her years. She was incredible on stage, and wasn't nervous at all.
Afterwards we went to the bbq festival they had in town called the "night with the piggy" festival. She got to have a treat of her choosing, and she picked the brightest blue cotton candy available. And she wasn't about to share.
